How to send apk and exe files in WhatsApp

For some of us who don’t know what apk and exe files are, they are file extensions for android apps and computer software respectively. Many a times you have a nice android app or computer software that you want to send to your friend on WhatsApp who is not in the same country or place with you but you find it difficult to do that because WhatsApp does not support sending of such files. What if I tell you there is a way to send that file to your friend through WhatsApp without using any third party app. Yes you can send your apk and exe files to your friend which I am going to show you in the next few minutes. Without wasting much time let me take you through how to send those files to your friends.

1.       Locate the file you want to send from your file explorer. In this article we will be sending apk 

2.       Once you locate the file you want to send long press on it and tap on rename button to change the extension of the file. WhatsApp allow sending of files like video, music and text. So change the extension of the file to txt or any of the supported formats that WhatsApp allow.

3.       Let’s say we are to send a facebook app then we have to look for the app and change the extension from the apk to txt or jpg. This will trick WhatsApp to believe that you are sending a text message or an image.

4.       Now that you have change the extensions go back and look for the app again and long press on it then select send. You will be Ask to choose an application to complete your action. Select WhatsApp from the listed applications

5.        Once WhatsApp is opened, you can then select the friend that you want to send the app to  then confirm it and your file will be send to your friend

6.       Once your friend received the file he or she needs to rename the files extension back to its original extension before he can use it. So you have to tell your friend to rename the file from the txt extension to apk extension.

7.       He or she can locate the file in WhatsApp folder under documents if the extension is txt or under image if the extension is jpg.

8.       That’s all you have successfully send an apk file to your friend through WhatsApp. You can follow the same step when you want to send exe file to your friend.
